Greetings,

I just finished reading Leonard Hogue's "Ecstasy of Freedom", all 3 books in the triology, and I found it to be one of the most enjoyable books I've read and I read a lot, at least one book a week. The book had a well developed cast of characters and a strong story line. Also, something rare these days, there was nothing to offend anyone. The book was also factually informative about the Deep South around the time of the Civil war. Writers of this strength should be encouraged. Do you have any more of his work available? I highly recommend it to anyone old enough to read.
Sincerely, DL Herrington

I just finished reading the three book series; The Ecstasy of Freedom books one two and three. The author, Mr. Hogue had me captivated and intrigued.
The adventures and life of Jasper, a runaway slave was miraculous; I was mesmerized; I absolutely could not put them down.
The books reminded me of The Little House on The Prarie Book Series; I mean, you could make a TV series about it.
My Opinion of the book series is; fantastic. A Must read!!!

I find these novels; The Ecstasy of Freedom series to be interesting and so well written that it seems that you are reading a factual article.
They keep you interested during the entire reading and are so well written that you never lose interest.

Like the New York Times Best Selling Author said in the reviews, as you read the series, The Ecstasy of Freedom books one two and three, they are so superbly written and the descriptions so precise, you feel that you are right there on the wagon train with Jasper as they progress across country.
But that's not all; you feel that you are there with him in all of his endeavors while reading all three books of the trilogy. They are not only well written but there is no vulgarity or profanity in any of the three books.
